What an honest read, Renée. A tough puzzle without a clear answer. You've definitely conveyed the struggle associated with matching one's passions with work that feels meaningful (both in impact and demand). Intrinsically motivated people (which I'm guessing you are a fellow one?) - we really have to sense the fundamental point of things to feel secure. Sometimes I have to remind myself that usefulness is relative...

I hope you'll find a path and a market that you feel are a good fit, even if it's unclear right now.

"Intrinsically motivated people" - I never had words to describe this part of myself and you've captured it perfectly!

I'll be pondering your idea of usefulness being relative...that's not something I gave much thought to before.

Thanks so much for being here and for your insightful response Kam 🤗

At the end of the day @Renee you need to think about what problems are you going to solve for your clients? It might do you some good to think of some ideas, then put together some form of presentation where you might be able to gather market research as to what are the attendees top 5 needs it wants from their systems….

I'm not sure of the best ways they might use their Notion or Tana packages to 1) keep a database of something (products, clients, ideas, articles) 2) ideation using a collection of resources (eg. Articles, books, pdfs) to create something else using convergence and divergence 3) task manager 4) CSM - customer service management - tracking of clients and interactions 5) corporate CKM or BKM (vs PKM) a means to systemize their business and track business/corporate knowledge to save time and create efficiencies 6) tracking purchases 7) inventory management system 8) hotel reservation system 9) quotation tracker - resurface positive business or positive life messages every day 10) Daily Spiritual tracker - resurface biblical, Torah, Quran, Buddhist, Hindi, etc. Scriptures, Texts, Quotes, etc. To contribute towards a healthier spiritual life 11) (an extra for good luck) Family Management System - a way to coordinate and communicate with a family or work team, etc. To ensure everyone is in the same page in terms of goals, tasks, time, and communication

Anyway I don't have the solution or answers to your existential questions only you can find the answers to YOUR questions… but I would try to find your passion and then market the heck out of that.

You seem like an amazingly deep and very thoughtful person Renee - I believe in YOU and I know that you will find your way.

Keep the faith, you are loved and more than worthy on finding your happy place too 🤗

I think that we all face similar questions at different times in our lives.

I've also been wondering about how to make an impact, how to help more people, how to find ways to present myself and my skills to convince others that my experience can be valuable to them.

A big part of the angst comes from not being sure we're on the right track, targeting the right people, presenting our "solutions" the right way, reaching the people we need to reach, etc.

What calms mine down are the coaching calls that people book from time to time. At this point it's quite rare, but always feels great and reassuring. It makes me feel that there actually are people in need, but the problems lies elsewhere, in the way I (fail to) market, in the way I present my offers, etc. And that can be solved. It's a skill to develop, and like any other, it takes time and effort.

The real challenge is when time is running out, and you realize that even though you're somewhat right and on the right path, you might still fail, unless you make a breakthrough.

I sincerely hope yours will come too!

Don't give up just yet! 🚀

Oh man you hit the nail on the head, describing EXACTLY how I feel. When I do have a 1:1 session with someone, I feel so energized and again, useful, so I think I need to tap into those needs, identifying and solving those problems.

I like your thinking around the problems that lie elsewhere and that they're skills to be developed. It gives me the awareness that improvement is the only option once these skills are nourished over time.

A breakthrough is here, I can feel that it, I just need to see through the fog.

Thank you so much for your words here Sébastien, I feel seen and am encouraged to keep going!

The need to be useful is something I deeply resonate with. I’ve often felt the frustration of knowing I have valuable skills yet struggling to present them to the world. It’s a landscape I continue to explore. At times, I find joy in the search itself. When I reach a state of mind where I can recognize this, I find peace, even amidst intense existential angst. Other times, I feel as though I’m trying to engage with the world through my work, but it feels like shouting into a void. The pendulum swings from one extreme to the other, and the only constant is the awareness of this swing. Perhaps the true work of life is to separate our self-worth from our achievements and what we can offer others, even though that has its own value. Instead, we should find solace in knowing that showing up and giving our all is what truly matters.

I hope you find this awareness as well. I know you will. 😊
